A Christmas Carol

Kansas City's favorite holiday tradition comes directly to you!

Join us in celebrating 40 years of holiday magic with KCRep! Kansas City’s beloved tradition returns in an exciting new format that blends the heart and soul of our spirited holiday classic with an innovative digital experience. Although we can’t be together in-person this year, we are bringing the celebration to the comfort of your very own living room! Snuggle up by the fireplace with family and friends, grab a warm blanket, a cup of cocoa and join Ebenezer Scrooge on his redemptive journey with Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Produced in partnership with Kansas City PBS and featuring an all-star Kansas City cast, our virtual performance of A Christmas Carol will kindle your Christmas spirit and create memories that will last for years to come.

Our A Christmas Carol digital stream is not a filmed version of our traditional production, but rather a brand-new experience created just for this moment. It’s a fireside storytelling version of A Christmas Carol, in which four of your favorite KCRep actors will each bring to life a chapter of the book. A Christmas Carol is 1 hour and 20 minutes long.

  • "Polished to a high sheen through atmospheric imagery, tight editing of the Dickens story and the work of four talented actors — Walter Coppage, Vanessa Severo, Bri Woods and Gary Neal Johnson — whose performances are both subtle and overtly theatrical."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed this performance. The camera work, the setting and the actors were all fantastic. We would do this again in a heartbeat- it was a bargain!! Kudos to all involved- you really made it special!!"

  • "We LOVED the performance. I sobbed during the first couple of minutes. It felt so "normal" to see familiar faces and hear the familiar story. I've longed for that feeling of normalcy for months. Thank you for providing the opportunity. The cast was remarkable. I loved the way you pivoted and provided us with something familiar in a new way. It also allowed us to share it with family who live in California and wouldn't have been able to attend, even if thing were normal. We enjoyed being able to watch at the same time."
