Heather Beal received her BA in dance from Columbia College Chicago and her MFA in Dance from Washington University in St. Louis. She is currently a Ph.D. student in dance at The Ohio State University studying ritual and magic in Black dance performance. She is a certified Dunham Technique Instructor from East Saint Louis, IL. She has toured around the United States and France, teaching and performing Dunham Technique. Some of her favorite productions she has choreographed are The Color Purple, Ragtime, Blood at the Root, Eubie!, and Ain’t Misbehavin’.
