He/Him) Mario Raymond is a freelance lighting designer for theatre and corporate events based in Kansas City. Originally from Louisiana, he has lived in Kansas City since 2017. He currently serves as a lecturer at Wichita State University. He holds an MFA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and a BFA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In Kansas City, he previously worked at Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Mercer Zimmerman, and UMKC. This is Raymond’s debut at Kansas City Rep. Recent design credits: Bast*rd (Purple Rose Theatre); UMB Leadership Summit (Monarch Productions); She Loves Me and Guys & Dolls (SSMT); and the KCRep Gala (Bluefox Production).
